Merry Christmas: The Greatest Gift

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

All gifts are either given, received or rejected. Different gifts are given to different people..we're all different-different likes/ dislikes/ wants/needs. I've been given gifts before that looked so pretty and perfectly wrapped..I just knew it was going to be great. But after unwrapping it I was disappointed. It wasn't what I thought it would be. Over 2000 years ago the best gift was given. He wasn't wrapped in gold wrapping paper but in swaddling clothes. A King left glory to come to this sin filled world. The night I received this gift I was not disappointed.

God GAVE His only son. All gifts are free to take but they cost something for the person giving them. This gift cost a very high price. This was not one of those gifts that had no thought put in it..God didn't just throw it all together at the last minute. Before time began God had Calvary on His mind. Before time began He knew YOU and I would one day need a gift like no other...the gift of SALVATION, the gift of FORGIVENESS, the gift of amazing LOVE that was willing to sacrifice it all. This gift gives light in the darkness, peace in the storm, strength in the weakest days and oh so much more! "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus there's just something about that name. Master, Savior, Jesus like the fragrance after the rain." Today we celebrate Jesus' birthday. "Unto us a child is born, unto us a son of given.." This gift is the gift that keeps on giving. 33.5 years later Jesus was nailed to the cross..not because he had to but because he wanted to. Christmas isn't about the gifts but the gift, it's not about the Christmas tree but the tree he hung on at Calvary, it's not about the colorful lights but the light of the world. Don't reject this perfect gift. Those who reject Christ will die alone and spend eternity in Hell burning, screaming, crying forever. Salvation is a free gift. It's the best gift. God always knows how to give the BEST gifts.  Merry Christmas my friends! ❤️❤️❤️
